A Real Hydro-Mulching Machine with Mechanical Agitation
Fast and Efficient:
The TurfMaker® 430 can mix and apply up to 175 pounds of wood mulch or 250 pounds of paper mulch with one tank load in less than 20 minutes. When making applications for Sod Quality Results, 100% wood fiber mulch should be applied at a rate of 50-75 pounds per 1,000 square feet. When providing typical hydro-seeding, 10,000 square feet can be easily covered with one tank load. It is not necessary to use a lot of water to apply a lot of mulch with a TurfMaker®.
Small but Powerful:
The TurfMaker® 430 is powerful enough to pump thick mulch slurries through as much as 500 feet of hose, and then project the mulch slurry more than 75 feet from the end of the hose. With this power and mulch handling capacity, the TurfMaker® 430 can apply more mulch, and plant more area per hour, than significantly larger jet agitation machines.
Never Clog the Hose:
With the optional clear water system, the hose can be completely flushed with clear water at any time. It is not possible to clog the hose after flushing, and the hose is "light as a feather" when there is no mulch left in the hose.
Double, Triple, or even Quadruple the Capacity:
With the optional clear water system, any TurfMaker®can fill itself from an auxiliary water tank. This can save numerous trips to a fire hydrant or some other appropriate water source.
Alternatively, the auxiliary water tank can be continuously filled with two garden hoses, and supply the water needed for three or four tank loads per hour. When a high volume water source is not close by, the TurfMaker® 430can actually work faster and apply more mulch per hour than larger mechanical agitation machines.
Incredibly Small and Versatile:
The TurfMaker® 430 actually fits into the bed of a pickup truck. With one bag of wood mulch, along with seed and fertilizer, this mixture will likely be 130-140 gallons resulting in the loaded machine weighing about 2,600 lbs. When filled to capacity, the total weight may exceed the truck's carrying capacity.
The machine can also be used on a flat bed truck or a small utility trailer. With this compactness and versatility, the TurfMaker® 430can be taken into places larger machines can't go.
Even Capable of Hydro-Sprigging:
When premium grasses such as Tifway 419 are called for, the TurfMaker® 430 will even perform hydro-sprigging. No need to lay sod with lots of labor. Tifway 419 is ideal for sports fields, golf course fairways, and for homeowners wanting beautiful, easy-to-care-for, durable turf. It's not even necessary to find a sod grower willing to cut sprigs.
All TurfMakers® can perform hydro-sprigging utilizing the new patented Vegetative Planting Technology.
The TurfMaker® 430 - For Landscape Contractors & Golf Course maintenance.
INFO about turf maker co.
James Lincoln began business in 1972 as a hydro-mulching contractor, planting grass on home lawns using a 350 gallon Bowie Hydro-Mulcher. During the first four years of business, other contractors came to Lincoln seeking guidance as he was purchasing materials and supplies. Lincoln discontinued the contracting business in 1976 to become a full time materials supplier and also to sell Bowie Hydro-Mulchers. By 1978, Lincoln had started developing innovations on Bowie machines, creating the clear water flush system and ultimately the first 5th wheel 1,100 gallon machine. He designed and built first 200 gallon miniature machine in 1990. ,which initially was called a TurfMaker, but came to market as a “Baby Bowie” and enjoyed success throughout the 1990s. In 1995, Lincoln sought additional manufacturing capacity for building the first 425 gallon TurfMaker. A brief partnership existed with a farm machinery manufacturing company building the first TurfMaker product. Due to philosophical disagreements, that relationship was severed in 1998 and Lincoln began TurfMaker manufacturing. Since 1998, TurfMaker manufacturing has become the fastest growing and most successful hydro-mulching machine manufacturing company in the market. The TurfMaker of today has numerous improvements over the machine of yesterday and innovations are ongoing.
Lincoln has been a staunch supporter of turfgrass research at Texas A&M University. He has served on the Board of Directors of the International Erosion Control Association and the Associated Landscape Contractors of America. He has also served on the Advisory Council of the Conwed Corporation, and was involved with the Weyerhauser Corporation with the first Bonded Fiber Matrix product known as Soil Guard. He was honored in 1990 as Associate Member of the Year by the Texas Landscape Contractors Association, and received the Life Time Achievement Award from the Hydro-Turf Planters Association in 2002.
Lincoln is a graduate of Southern Methodist University with degrees in Economics and Accounting. He also holds a Masters degree in Executive Management from Pepperdine University. He holds a patent on an innovative hydro-sprigging grass planting technique with the TurfMaker machine, and has two patents pending on innovative TurfMaker pump designs.
Hydro-Mulching - A Grass Planting Process was written by James Lincoln in 1978, and was then published in Landscape Management Magazine. It was revised and published in a Canadian Parks Management magazine about 1990, and has been revised again for other publication purposes.
