Know the differences in hydroseeder and hydromulcher equipment before 

 A good hydroseeder can quickly mix and apply any kind of mulch mixture, thick or thin.  A very thick mulch mixture is frequently needed for serious erosion control applications.  Sometimes, a highway right-of-way can be adequately covered with a soupy mixture.  For landscaping and sod quality results hydromulching, premium mulch products are most appropriate. 

Don’t be misled that a larger tank and engine is the answer.  A re-circulation or ‘jet agitation’ machine will not mix even moderately thick slurries limiting mulch applications to low budget projects.  There is no substitute for a machine designed to efficiently mix and pump good mulch materials at appropriate rates.  The purchase of a cheap hydroseeder machine can be a disaster for a new contractor intending to enter the business of planting quality grass on new lawns and fine landscapes or serious erosion control.  Read more...
